The STM-1 electrical passive Tap provide 24/7 monitoring access to both sides of a full-duplex link. It is non-intrusive, shows traffic at maximum network speed, without introducing a point of failure.
The “no package loss” and redundant power feature makes it the ideal solution for security applications. Transparent to the network, it shows traffic in real-time and copies all 7 layers. Redundant power guarantees a maximum monitoring uptime.
The network link is permanently wired and tapped by high impedance circuitry. The permanent link feature guarantees network connectivity, without package loss, also at power failure.
The unit is powered from the back, “ON” LED shows power.

Non-powered Taps are intrusive and steal power from your network, they can bring down your network.
2. Advantage over Taps without transformers:
Transformers create galvanic separation. Ground Potential Difference between Tap and network ports do not cause a problem as with “transformer-less” Taps.
Our STM-1 Taps are powered and use transformers giving the best of both solutions.
